The applications of BADBOY'S  Dry Blast Cabinets are virtually limitless—cleaning, deburring, decorating, def lashing, etching, finishing, honing, peening, etc. All of these uses and more can be accomplished easily with quick sweeps of the gun nozzle. Scale, corrosion, old paint and other surface materials are removed in minutes leaving metal surfaces free of foreign matter and contamination. Even tough mill scale is quickly and efficiently removed. The usual operating pressure for the Dry Blast Cabinets is 85 PSI. A 5 HP Air Compressor is sufficient for most work. The equipment utilizes a variety of abrasives such as the glass beads, aluminum oxide, silicon carbide, nut shells, etc. A multitude of finishes are possible ranging from a micro-finish to a coarse-grade finish depending upon the specific media used. Trinco Cabinets can apply the proper abrasive to provide the desired finish for each specific applications.  Usually most of the sandblasting equipment is very high priced, and I can assume that many of you most likely would borrow or rent the equipment. It is also safe to assume that many of you don’t do your sandblasting work yourself. In most of the cases, you usually hire a professional to sandblast your design. Using sandblasting equipment poses a lot of danger when you are not properly trained and experienced. The main problem that occurs is with silicosis as the tiny bits of sand when you shoot at high speeds through the air can accumulate in your lungs and other body parts. Even if you hire a professional before you begin your sandblasting work, there are several things you need to know when using sandblasting equipment to ensure both safety and good results. There are some projects that can be done by you. Pressure and Siphon Blasters: For those of you who like to do small sandblasting project yourselves such as stripping a wall a siphon blaster can get your job done easily. Siphon blasters though less powerful than the pressure blasters are less expensive, easy to use and require fewer nozzle replacements. The only drawback is they take more time to use. So, if you are working on a large project, then you may want to consider using pressurized equipment. You need to keep in mind that the design of air compressors is not for this type of application. So, you need to periodically turn it off to let the compressor cool. Nozzle Types: Nozzles for sandblasters come in a many shapes and sizes which include wide nozzles for large surfaces, and narrow ones for small projects. Usually nozzles made from boron carbide, and even though they are expensive, they are best suited as they are durable. When to Use a Blast Cabinet: You need to know when your sandblasting project requires you to blast small parts. This is when you need to use a blast cabinet. The blast cabinet is a large container where you place an object to sandblast and as the work goes on, the cabinet collects the sand, that you can reuse. When to Use an After Cooler: You need to also know when to use after coolers. They are essentially small scale radiators, which are used for cooling the air in and around the sand. After- coolers extract moisture from the sand before going into the blast pot which stores sand just before blasting. Did you know that after-coolers are not always necessary? If you work in a moist environment, then they can be of use. When you decide to use one you will also need to get a moisture trap to extract moisture and other debris from the air after it has cooled.
